Founded in 1751, Ferreira is the only Port house to have stayed in Portuguese hands since its inception. Today, award-winning fortified winemaker Luís Sottomayor continues Ferreira’s legacy, making critically acclaimed Ports that rank among Portugal’s greatest wines.
Pale brick red in colour. On the nose, aromas of mellow red fruits are married with notes of baking spice and roasted nuts. On the palate, smooth tannins create a velvety mouthfeel, and a vibrant acidity balances the sweetness and carries the flavours onto the elegant finish.
Tawny Ports like those from Ferreira pair beautifully with aged hard cheeses such as Manchego or mature Cheddar, nutty desserts like pecan pie or almond biscotti, and caramel-rich sweets such as crème brûlée or caramel ice cream.
