Touriga Nacional is Portugal's flagship grape: the backbone of great Vintage Port and, more recently, of some of the country's finest dry reds. It gives deep colour, dark floral perfume and firm tannin, with a signature note of violets. When people talk about Portugal's enormous potential, this grape is usually the first exhibit.
