Tinta Amarela Wines
Tinta Amarela, known as Trincadeira in most of the rest of Portugal, is one of the Douro's traditional port grapes and has gone into port since the 1700s. It is not an easy vine to farm, but ripened properly it brings dark colour and vibrant berry fruit with a herby, peppery edge. It is one of six varieties behind our Sandeman 20-Year-Old Tawny, where long ageing in cask knits them all together.
