Age Verification Policy

It is illegal to sell alcohol to anyone under the age of 18. This page explains how Taste of the Vines verifies age and what happens if proof of age cannot be provided.

You must be 18 or over

You must be 18 or over to purchase alcohol. Our delivery partners may request proof of age on delivery. If valid ID cannot be provided, delivery may be refused.

Challenge 25

We operate a Challenge 25 policy. This means that if our delivery partner believes you may be under 25, they may ask you to prove you are 18 or over before handing over your order. Acceptable forms of ID include a valid passport, photo driving licence, or any PASS scheme accredited ID.

If ID cannot be provided on delivery

If you or the intended recipient cannot provide valid proof of age at the point of delivery, our delivery partner will refuse to complete the delivery. The order will be returned to us. We will contact you to arrange redelivery, which may incur an additional delivery charge, or to offer a refund of the goods (less any restocking costs). We cannot refund the original delivery charge in this situation.

Buying alcohol for under-18s

It is a criminal offence to buy alcohol on behalf of someone who is under 18. By placing an order with us, you confirm that you are 18 or over and that you are not purchasing alcohol for anyone under 18.

Online age confirmation

At checkout you are asked to confirm that you are 18 or over before your order can be placed. This confirmation is recorded with your order. It is an offence to make a false declaration of age, and we reserve the right to cancel any order where we believe this has occurred.
