Tinto Cão Wines

Tinto Cão is one of the Douro's oldest port grapes, documented since the seventeenth century, and one of its scarcest: its very low yields meant growers largely gave up on it, and only a few hundred hectares survive in Portugal. Quality kept it alive. It ripens late, holds its acidity and brings finesse and real staying power to a blend, which is why it earns its place in our Sandeman 20-Year-Old Tawny.
