Faulty, corked or damaged wine

If a bottle arrives damaged, is corked (a genuine wine fault) or is otherwise not as it should be, please contact us within a reasonable time of receiving your order. Email us at info@tasteofthevines.co.uk with your order number and a description of the problem. A photo is helpful but not always required.

We will arrange a replacement or a full refund for the affected bottles. We may ask you to return the faulty wine or to dispose of it, depending on the situation.

Damaged in transit

If your order arrives with obvious damage, please note this with the delivery driver if possible and contact us straight away. Please keep the original packaging as our courier may need to inspect it. We will either resend the order or refund you in full.

How refunds are issued

Refunds are returned to your original payment method. Please allow up to 10 working days for the refund to appear, though it is often quicker. We will let you know by email when a refund has been issued.

Consumer Contracts Regulations and alcohol

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a right to cancel most online purchases within 14 days. However, there are limits that apply specifically to alcohol and perishable goods.

Once a bottle of wine has been opened, it cannot be returned unless it is faulty or was not as described. Special-order wines or en-primeur purchases may also fall outside the standard cancellation window. See our Cancellation Policy for full details of your cancellation rights.

None of this affects your statutory rights where goods are genuinely faulty or not as described. If wine is faulty, you can always get a replacement or a refund regardless of whether a bottle has been opened.
