Touriga Franca Wines

Touriga Franca is the most planted grape in the Douro, covering around a fifth of the valley's vineyards. A natural cross involving the celebrated Touriga Nacional, it keeps much of its parent's dark fruit but wears it more lightly, adding floral perfume and firm yet velvety tannins. That combination of scent and structure is a large part of what a fine tawny needs, and it does that work in our Sandeman 20-Year-Old.
