Wines from Douro

The Douro's dramatic terraced valley gives Portugal both its Port and, increasingly, serious dry reds from the same steep schist vineyards. Wines with real presence.

About Douro

The Douro made its name in Port and spent the last few decades proving the same terraced schist makes remarkable unfortified reds. The grapes are the same — Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and their neighbours — grown on some of the most punishing vineyard land in Europe.

The wines are dark, structured and distinctly Portuguese: nothing else tastes quite like them.
