About Dão
The Dão sits inland behind the mountains, higher and cooler than the Douro, on granite. Where the Douro is powerful, the Dão is fine-boned — reds with real freshness and a firm, almost mineral spine.
It is one of the last genuinely undervalued classic regions in western Europe.
