Prunotto

Prunotto is one of the established names in Piedmontese wine, now part of the Antinori group but with deep roots in the region going back to the early 20th century. They make wines across the range of Piedmontese appellations, with a particular focus on Barbera from the Nizza sub-zone, which earned its own DOC recognition for single-varietal Barbera.

Barbera at this level shows a generosity of fruit, good acidity, and a depth that the everyday version rarely has. These are well-made, characterful reds from grapes that Piedmont grows better than anywhere.
