About Antinori

Tuscany, Italy

Few names in Italian wine carry the same weight as Antinori. The Florentine family has been making wine since 1385, and while that history is genuinely remarkable, it is their restless forward thinking that sets them apart. They were among the driving forces behind the Supertuscan movement in the 1970s, and their estate at Pian delle Vigne in Montalcino, acquired in 1995, has become one of the most admired sources of Sangiovese in the region.

Pian delle Vigne produces both Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino from calcareous clay soils that give the wines a mineral backbone alongside the bright cherry fruit Sangiovese is known for. The Rosso offers the approachable, earlier-drinking face of the estate; the Brunello the full depth and longevity the appellation is famous for. Both are made with the precision and care you would expect from a family with six centuries of winemaking behind them.
