Red
La Braccesca Sabazio Rosso Di Montepulciano 2023
From £21.95
Why Mark chose this
La Braccesca is the Antinori family's Montepulciano estate, and Sabazio is their entry-level red, a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot that captures the style of the territory at an accessible price. It's lively and fruit-forward, with cherries, violets and a fresh, clean palate that makes it very easy to drink midweek without ceremony. Good value for money from a reliable house.

Tasting Notes
Sabazio 2022 is ruby red in color. The nose presents Sangiovese’s characteristic fruity notes: impressions of black cherries and blood oranges lead to floral aromas of violets. The palate is fresh, pleasantly vibrant with velvety tannins and rich flavors. Sabazio Vino Rosso di Montepulciano has the freshness associated with the traditional Sangiovese variety together with vibrant aromas characteristic of Merlot in a unique expression of the centuries-old Montepulciano territory. The wine takes its name from Sabatino Lulli, known as “Sabazio”, a monk from the Montepulciano Abbey who was the first to give indications on how to produce wine from the local varieties.
