Biserno is the Tuscan estate set up by the Antinori family on the coast near Bolgheri, and Il Pino is their second wine, built around Cabernet Franc with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. It's a ripe, full wine with the warm vintage showing clearly, but there's structure here too, and the oak is well integrated. For anyone who likes the Bolgheri style but finds the top wines too expensive, this is a very good alternative.

The Tenuta di Biserno 2022 Il Pino di Biserno delivers a ripe fruit profile with blackberry confit and sweet cherry pie. Those warm vintage tones are followed by an ample use of oak that adds baking spice and toasted nutmeg. There is a hint of campfire ash or something blackened or toasted at the core of this full-bodied Tuscan blend. I pick up a note of dryness on the otherwise velvety tannins."
