Wines from Marche
The Marche sits on Italy's Adriatic coast and is home to Verdicchio, one of the country's most underrated whites: crisp and saline, with a nutty depth. There are honest, characterful reds from Montepulciano too. Lovely wines at prices that haven't caught up with the quality.

About Marche
The Marche sits on Italy's Adriatic side and makes, in Verdicchio, one of the country's genuinely great white grapes — capable of real weight and length, and of ageing far longer than its price suggests.
The reds are worth attention too: Montepulciano and Sangiovese grown near the coast, softer and more approachable than their Tuscan cousins.
