Rotari

Rotari is a Trentino house specialising in traditional method sparkling wine, made from estate Chardonnay grown on hillside vineyards around Mezzocorona in the Adige Valley. The altitude and cool mountain climate produce grapes with the high natural acidity that gives good sparkling wine its backbone.

The Cuvée 28+ spends at least 28 months on its lees before disgorgement, which for a non-vintage Trento DOC is a serious commitment. The extended ageing adds a biscuity complexity to the wine without losing the fresh citrus character of the base. It is not Champagne, nor is it trying to be; it is a well-made Italian sparkling wine from a region that has been quietly perfecting this style for decades.
