Tenuta San Leonardo is one of Trentino's most distinguished estates, best known for the flagship San Leonardo blend that competes comfortably with serious Bordeaux. Terre di San Leonardo is the second wine, made from the same Bordeaux varieties on the same estate, and it's a genuine bargain by comparison. It's lighter and earlier-drinking, but has the same balance and freshness that comes from growing these grapes at altitude. A well-made, versatile red at a very fair price.
Terre, a Bordeaux blend like San Leonardo and from the same terroir, follows in the footsteps of its “elder brother,” here with remarkable crispness and enviable balance. 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 10% Carmenère. 80% in concrete vats and 20% in French oak barrels.
