Nocturne

Nocturne is Julian Langworthy's solo project, started in 2010 while he was already building a strong reputation as a winemaker for established Margaret River estates. Born and raised in the region, he has won the Jimmy Watson Trophy and been named Halliday's best winemaker, but the Nocturne wines are where his own instincts run free. The quantities are small, the sites carefully chosen across Treeton, Wilyabrup, and Yallingup, and the wines sell out quickly each year.

The wines are made to be serious: destemmed, fermented with indigenous yeasts, aged in a mix of new and older French oak, and bottled without heavy manipulation. The focus is on Cabernet Sauvignon, made in a medium-bodied, precise style with dark fruit, cedar, and a long savoury finish.
