Kooyong Meres is crafted from 24-year-old vines located on a gentle north-facing slope, which contributes to its low yields and concentrated flavors. The wine undergoes fermentation in large-format concrete and stainless-steel tanks, followed by maturation in French oak barriques.
Fragrant notes of raspberries and sour cherry are complemented by a slightly smoky quality. On the palate there is a solid core of red berries and sweet spice, leading to a focused finish. The finish features fine-grain tannins and a peppery aftertaste.
Pairs well with dishes like duck, salmon, and mushroom-based meals. Its light body and bright acidity make it versatile enough to complement both rich and delicate flavors.
