Galtrona

This wine comes from the Petrolo estate in the Valdarno di Sopra, the hill country south-east of Florence, where the Sanjust family farm olives and vines around a medieval tower. Their Galatrona, a pure Merlot from a single vineyard, has become one of Tuscany's most celebrated wines, often mentioned in the same breath as the great Merlots of Pomerol.

It is deep, velvety and long-lived, with dark plum and chocolate richness kept honest by Tuscan freshness. A serious wine from an estate that deserves its reputation.
