Fontodi

Fontodi is one of the great Chianti Classico estates, owned by the Manetti family and farmed biodynamically at Panzano in the heart of the Conca d'Oro, the natural amphitheatre that many consider the zone's finest growing position. Giovanni Manetti has been at the helm since the 1980s and has made Fontodi a benchmark for what Sangiovese can achieve in this part of Tuscany.

The range runs from leaner, more perfumed styles from high-altitude vineyards through to deeply concentrated Gran Selezione bottlings from old vines. These are wines of real depth and integrity, and Fontodi is a name that belongs in any serious conversation about Italian reds.
