Folium is the single-vineyard project of Takaki Okada, who left Japan, trained in California and worked in Marlborough for years before buying his own vineyard in the Brancott Valley in 2010. He farms it organically and dry-grown, with no irrigation, which is rare in Marlborough, and works it by hand.

The result is Marlborough with unusual depth and restraint. His Pinot Noir is gently extracted, fragrant and fine-boned, wine made by hand in the fullest sense.
