Folium

Folium is the single-vineyard project of Takaki Okada, who left Japan, trained in California and worked in Marlborough for years before buying his own block in the Brancott Valley in 2011. He farms it organically and dry-grown (no irrigation, which is rare in Marlborough) and does everything himself, from pruning to bottling.

The result is Marlborough with unusual depth and restraint. His Pinot Noir is gently extracted, fragrant and fine-boned: wine made by hand in the fullest sense.
