Laurent Fournier spends countless hours in his vineyards and has a skilled hand in the cellar. The wines are deep and pure, driven by their fruit and develop gorgeous perfumes with cellaring. He is regarded by many, as the best producer in Marsannay and with its proximity to Gevrey-Chambertin, his wines share many of the traits with top Gevrey, except for the price tag. His 2023’s are splendid. Laurent kept yields relatively low in this abundant harvest and picked on the earlier side to maintain freshness. He believes that 2023 is the best vintage he has experienced for quality and quantity.

Tasting Notes
The nose has precise notes of wild strawberries, red cherries, and cranberries, layered with hints of roasted coffee, subtle spice, and a faint floral lift. As it breathes, more savoury and stony nuances emerge, giving a sense of depth beyond the initial fruit. On the palate, the wine is energetic and finely etched. Juicy red berry flavours are framed by a distinct, almost chiselled mineral line that comes from the strong oolitic limestone in the vineyard.
