Alessandro e Gian Natale Fantino is a family-run estate in Monforte d'Alba, best known for its Barolo wines made from Nebbiolo, sourced exclusively from the historic Dardi section of the Bussia cru. Founded in the 1990s by brothers Alessandro—formerly winemaker at Bartolo Mascarello—and Gian Natale, the estate focuses on traditional methods including native yeast fermentation and aging in large Slavonian oak. Their wines, including Barbera d'Alba and the distinctive Laboro Disobedient cuvée, reflect a deep respect for terroir and heritage, with vines dating back to the 1940s
The 2015 Laboro Disubbidiente Rosso features tasting notes of dark fruit, balsamic notes, incense, tea, and spice, with a thick, chewy tannin finish.
Great with game dishes such as pheasant and wild boar, and with rich stews.
