The Veneto, in Italy's north-east, covers a lot of ground: Soave, Valpolicella, Prosecco country. It rewards picking producers over labels. What I stock from here is chosen bottle by bottle, like everything else.

The Veneto covers a great deal of ground and a great deal of wine — from the Prosecco hills in the north to Soave and Valpolicella nearer Verona.
Quality spans an enormous range here, which is precisely why it needs buying carefully rather than by label. The good growers are very good indeed.
