About The Next Hundred Years
Great Southern, Australia
The Next Hundred Years is a Western Australian project sourcing fruit from the Powderbark Ridge vineyard in Frankland River, part of the Great Southern region that sits well inland from Margaret River and produces some of Australia's most distinctive cool-climate wines. The vineyard lies at 200 metres on ironstone gravel soils, and the fruit is picked early for freshness.
The focus is Riesling made in a dry, taut style with real mineral backbone and the kind of natural acidity that Frankland River delivers when the timing is right. Great Southern Riesling does not always get the attention it deserves compared with Clare and Eden Valley, and this is a good reason to look at it.
