The Next Hundred Years

The Next Hundred Years is a Western Australian project sourcing fruit from the Powderbark Ridge vineyard in Frankland River, the inland corner of the Great Southern region, which produces some of Australia's most distinctive cool-climate wines. The vineyard lies at 200 metres on ironstone gravel soils, and the fruit is picked early for freshness.

The style is dry and taut, with real mineral backbone and the kind of natural acidity that Frankland River delivers when the timing is right. Great Southern does not always get the attention it deserves compared with better-known Australian regions, and this project is a good reason to look at it.
