Telmo Rodriguez

Telmo Rodríguez spent much of the 1990s and 2000s tracking down old vineyards in forgotten corners of Spain, from Galicia to Toro and the mountains behind Málaga, and bringing neglected sites and varieties back into production. He has since returned to his family's Rioja base, but the restless curiosity that drove that earlier work still shows in the wines.

The range runs from accessible, everyday Tempranillo-led wines, made from certified organic estate grapes and fruit from local growers, through to more structured single-estate bottlings. All of them are honest about what they are, with a clarity and freshness that reflects serious winemaking applied to unpretentious material.
