Conde Valdemar

Conde Valdemar is the flagship label of Bodegas Valdemar, the family firm of the Martinez Bujanda family, who have been growing grapes in Rioja since 1889. Five generations on, it remains genuinely family-run, something increasingly rare among the bigger Rioja names.

The style is classic, well-mannered Rioja: Tempranillo-led reds with proper barrel ageing, and fresh, modern whites and rosados. These are dependable, fairly priced wines from people who have been doing this for a very long time.
