Red
Thymiopoulos Xinomavro 2022
From £18.95
Why Mark chose this
Apostolos Thymiopoulos has done more than most to show what Xinomavro can do outside of the traditional Naoussa style, and this village-level bottling is where a lot of people first encounter his wines. Xinomavro at this level is lighter and more approachable than his top wines, with the variety's characteristic tomato and olive character present but softer. Very good value, and a reliable way into Greek red wine.

Tasting Notes
Apostolos Thymiopoulos devotes himself exclusively to xinomavro, the emblematic variety of the Naoussa region, expressing “terroir” as well as the craftsmanship of the “vigneron”. Xinomavro doesn't leave room for mistake, either in the vineyard, or in the winery. Vinified according to the rules of the art, xinomavro yields acid, tannic yet ethereal, long lived wines with a distinctive aromatic profile.
