Soto Manrique Las Violetas 2021
From £30.95
Why Mark chose this
Sierra de Gredos, west of Madrid at 900 metres, is one of the most exciting places for Garnacha in Spain right now. Old bush vines on poor, shallow granite soils give a wine with real tension and a perfumed, earthy character that is nothing like the soft, jammy Grenache from other regions. Las Violetas is fragrant, mineral and genuinely interesting. Anyone who thinks they know Garnacha should try this.
