Patrick Piuze Chablis Grand Cru Bougros 2022
£129.95
Why Mark chose this
Patrick Piuze is a Canadian-born winemaker who arrived in Chablis in the early 2000s and is now regarded as one of its very best practitioners. Bougros is a grand cru on the plateau above the Serein river, planted in 1956, and the 2022 shows beautifully: full-bodied, saline and persistent with a bright, mouthwatering acidity. William Kelley at the Wine Advocate gave it 93+ points and the quality is clear. This is serious Chablis from one of the appellation's most exciting producers.

Tasting Notes
93+ points "Offering up aromas of citrus oil, crisp stone fruit, white flowers and buttery pastry, Piuze's 2022 Chablis Grand Cru Bougros is medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with a bright spine of acidity and a mouthwateringly saline finish. It's an especially strong performance for this site this year." William Kelley, Wine Advocate September 2023. From vines planted in 1956 that are located on the plateau.
