Fontodi is one of the benchmark estates of Chianti Classico, and Vigna del Sorbo is their flagship: a single vineyard Gran Selezione from 55-year-old south-west facing vines. The 2017 was a warm, dry vintage in Tuscany that produced concentrated, structured wines with real longevity. At 15% ABV it's a serious bottle that needs proper food and a little air, but the quality is beyond question.
