Margaret River is a long way from anywhere — the south-western corner of Australia, moderated by ocean on three sides — and it produces the country's most convincing Cabernet.
The comparison usually made is with Bordeaux, and the structure does bear it out, but with a clarity of fruit that is entirely its own. The Chardonnay is world-class too.
