Donnhoff

Donnhoff is one of the most admired Riesling producers in Germany, and the Nahe Valley where they work is one of the most geologically varied wine regions anywhere. Helmut Donnhoff built the reputation over decades; his son Cornelius now runs the estate, and the standard has not dropped.

The range runs from the top single-vineyard wines, which command prices to match their standing, through to the entry-level dry Rieslings that offer real quality at more approachable prices. If you want to understand why Nahe Riesling deserves more attention than it gets, Donnhoff is the clearest argument.
