Borgo Selene

Borgo Selene is a Sicilian label made at the historic Curatolo Arini winery, with blends put together by Alberto Antonini, one of Italy's most respected travelling winemakers. The wines draw on Sicily's two great indigenous red grapes, Nero d'Avola for depth and body, and Nerello Mascalese for fragrance and freshness.

The combination works well. Nero d'Avola brings the southern sun, while Nerello Mascalese, more commonly found on the slopes of Etna, lifts the whole thing. It is an approachable, well-priced Sicilian red that does not overclaim.
