André & Michel Quenard farm steep, sunny terraces at Chignin, in the foothills of the Bauges mountains in Savoie. The family has been growing vines here for generations, and today the estate is one of the names people reach for when they want to know what Alpine wine is all about.

Their whites are built on Jacquère, Savoie's own white grape, grown here on limestone scree slopes. At its best it is exactly what mountain white should be: light, fresh and mineral, the kind of wine that goes perfectly with cheese, charcuterie or simply a cold evening in good company.
