Petit Verdot Wines

Petit Verdot is Bordeaux's seasoning grape: a late ripener that turns up in small percentages in great clarets, adding colour, violet perfume and a firm backbone. In warmer parts of the world it ripens more reliably and occasionally takes a starring role, making dense, dark wines with real presence. A little goes a long way, and winemakers love it for exactly that.
