Wines from Valdarno di Sopra

The Valdarno di Sopra is a quiet corner of Tuscany along the upper Arno valley between Florence and Arezzo. Its vineyards were recognised as long ago as 1716, when the Medici first classified Tuscany's best wine zones, and today a handful of ambitious estates are restoring the area's reputation with polished Sangiovese and, famously, some of Italy's finest Merlot.
