About Ksara
Bekaa Valley, Lebanon
Château Ksara is Lebanon's oldest and largest winery, with roots in the Bekaa Valley going back to the nineteenth century, when Jesuit monks established the estate and began tunnelling the cave system that still runs beneath the property today. The Bekaa sits at around a thousand metres above sea level, with long dry summers and cool nights, conditions that suit varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Tempranillo surprisingly well.
The wines offer an accessible introduction to a region that many wine drinkers have not yet explored. The Bekaa terroir gives them a dusty, spiced character alongside ripe dark fruit, and the tannins that the red varieties carry here are well-handled. A reliable choice from an interesting corner of the wine world.
