Tempranillo Blanco Wines

Tempranillo Blanco is one of wine's happy accidents. In 1988 a grower in Rioja noticed a single cane of red Tempranillo carrying yellow-green grapes, and the mutation was rescued and propagated. Approved for Rioja in 2007, it gives fresh, aromatic whites with citrus fruit, floral notes and good acidity. It plays a supporting role in our Conde Valdemar Rioja Blanco, sharpening up the traditional Viura and Malvasía.
