Aglianico Wines

Aglianico is southern Italy's answer to the great age-worthy reds of the north. Grown here since ancient times, it ripens late and gives deeply coloured wines with firm tannins, dark cherry fruit and a savoury, almost smoky edge, especially on the volcanic soils of Monte Vulture in Basilicata. That is exactly where ours come from: Cantine del Notaio's L'Atto shows the grape's juicy, approachable side, while Il Sigillo has the depth to reward keeping.
