Racines Sta. Rita Hills Cuvée Chardonnay 2017
£63.95
Why Mark chose this
Racines is the project of Étienne de Montille from Burgundy and Rodolphe Péters from Champagne, who came together to make Chardonnay from the cool-climate Sta. Rita Hills in California. The pedigree of the makers shapes the wine entirely: this is not the big, oaky California style but something far more restrained, mineral and Burgundian in character. The 2017 has had time to settle and is drinking very well now.

Tasting Notes
Racines is a collaboration between two classic houses from France, led by vignerons Étienne de Montille and Brian Sieve of Burgundy and Rodolphe Péters of Champagne. The team came together to join their individual experiences in hand-crafting wines of purity and transparency to create a range of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the cool climate of the Sta. Rita Hills in California.
