Originally (1689) celebrated as a festive wine, today pineau is often categorised as an aperitif. However limiting it to an aperitif is to underestimate the complexity it conceals; together with friends discover the many facets of a Chateau de Beaulon pineau. Beaulon Pineaux des Charentes are easily distinguishable due to their complex fruitiness from Bordeaux grape varieties : Semillon/Sauvignon for the white ; Cabernets Franc/Sauvignon and Merlot for the red. Together with the aromas of old cognac and oak ageing the result is a delicious harmony of 5 grape varieties.
